Living Our Ancestors Dreams: A Juneteenth Call to Action

My paternal grandfather was former President of Liberia, the late William R. Tolbert Jr. I do not often share this publicly, but I have felt spiritually moved to recently. My paternal lineage was repatriated to Africa by the American Colonization Society. I share this today because I am very much the literal dream of what a freed slave has the potential to create, and so are you, my Black family across the globe.

It doesn’t mean taking on the entire situation as if I’m the only one who played a role. Once I stop my harmful behavior and atone for my transgressions, when I have cleared my debt, I am free.
